Springbok Experience Rugby Museum
Rugby is embedded deep in the DNA of the country and, in many ways, the story of rugby is the story of South Africa. But visitors can experience that passion as it comes to life at The Springbok Experience at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town – the official rugby museum of the South African Rugby Union. There are 91 media channels playing, requiring 14km of cabling to help tell that story as well as 480m of LED strip lighting. There is more than half a kilometre of printed graphic panels to absorb apart from the beautifully preserved objects and the game-playing “Springbok Trials” zone where a series of bespoke interactive games were purpose built to suit the exhibition to test rugby skills such as passing, kicking, fitness and reactions.
